Support for IBM OSA Express

 

Santa Clara, CA - January 14, 2003 - UTS Global, LLC, the worldwide leader in Unix® and Linux® mainframe operating environments, today announced support for IBM OSA Express®  for UTS4.5.

UTS4 has been enhanced (with MR 66412 applied) to add support for the IBM OSA EXPRESS (OSA III cards) for FAST ETHERNET 10/100 MBS connectivity.

UTS4 now supports the following IBM OSA cards and associated connectivity protocols:

  • OSA I - 10 MBS ETHERNET
  • OSA II - 10/100MBS FAST ETHERNET, FDDI and TOKEN RING
  • OSA III (OSA EXPRESS) - 10/100MBS FAST ETHERNET

All OSA cards are supported in LAN CHANNEL STATION (LCS) mode, which uses 3172 channel programming.
