UTS Global Announces
NED for Linux® on S/390® and zSeries™
A 3270-based screen editor for Mainframe Linux®

Santa Clara, CA - July 09, 2002 - UTS Global, LLC announces immediate availability of NED, a 3270-based full screen text editor product for Linux® on the mainframe. NED is designed to run on a 3270 terminal or emulator (e.g. x3270). With NED, mainframe Linux® users can edit files with the ease and efficiency enjoyed by OS/390® systems with XEDIT or ISPF Edit. NED can also function as a pager especially suited to 3270 terminals.

"NED uniquely and successfully combines the full-screen power of mainframe editors like Xedit with the power of regular expressions and ex-style commands," explained Douglas DeMers, Linux product manager for UTS Global. "This kind of editing power can be extremely useful to a VM Penguin Farm administrator, especially in recovery situations or for initial network configuration."
