UTS Global, LLC Announces
46x5 Hardware Maintenance

Santa Clara, CA - September 28, 2000- UTS Global, LLC new owner of UTS system software, is pleased to announce an extended support service offering to customers who continue to use the Amdahl 4635 Communications Processor and the 4655 Front-end-Processor products.

In December 1999, Amdahl Corporation sent letters to UTS customers on active maintenance contracts for the Amdahl 4635 and 4655 communication processors that announced end-of-life for support and maintenance for those processors effective December 31, 2000. Amdahl will discontinue maintenance of the 4635 and 4655 equipment as of December 31, 2000.

Several of the UTS customers who are still using the 4635 and 4655 communication processors to run their network applications have contacted UTS Global with inquiries regarding continued support. In response, UTS Global has acquired the 4635 and 4655 product line from Amdahl and will take over the maintenance of the installed 4635 and 4655 communication equipment effective January 1, 2001. Therefore, UTS Global will continue to provide the software support and will now provide hardware maintenance beginning on January 1, 2001.

At the present time, UTS Global is planning to continue support of the 4635 and 4655 communication equipment through December 31, 2002. However, UTS Global will work with the remaining active users as they assess their situations and will consider further extensions of the support program as may be required.

As the UTS users review their alternatives for eventual migration from the 4635 and 4655 equipment, UTS Global is prepared to work with them to determine the most appropriate replacement plan for their network. Resources knowledgeable with the 4635/4655 technology are available to help with network migration planning, replacement product selection, and hardware and software configuration of the replacement network.

In the near future, UTS Global will have more details regarding contract terms, support coverage and pricing for the extended support service for the 4635 and 4655 communication processors.
